RoboCop review

Paul Verhoeven’s humor isn’t particularly subtle. RoboCop however, works well because the film’s nature demands everything to be so plainly obvious. All of this should be seen as a joke in the face the growing wealth gap, and rampant industrialism that is sweeping the country. It is easy to see the devastation of the dystopian world in detail - the news broadcasts and the explicit goals of businessmen, as well as the absurd advertising. All of it makes (mentioned here) sense when you consider the society's need for "advancement."
